In accordance with the implementation of DepEd Order No. 2, s. 2013 or the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of RA 8525, or the Adopt-a-School Program Act, SDO Lucena City conducted the awarding of outstanding stakeholders during the Education Summit, State of the Division Address cum Stakeholdersâ?? Convergence on November 10. The activity aimed to present the division accomplishments per unit via the State of the Division Address delivered by the Schools Division Superintendent and conduct a partnership appreciation program vis-Ã -vis Gawad Suhay to recognize the contributions of stakeholders and promote and strengthen commitment for better delivery of basic education services. Dr. Epifania F. Carandang, Chief Education Supervisorâ??SGOD, welcomed and thanked everyone who joined and attended the activity as she gave her opening remarks. She mentioned that stakeholders are one of the pillars in education to provide quality services, especially to the learners. Susan DL. Oribiana, Schools Division Superintendent, presented and discussed the salient features of the projects by each unit in the Division of Lucena City. SDS Oribiana narrated the remarkable accomplishments SDO Lucena had made for the year, highlighting the Best Performing Division in the whole Region IV-A CALABARZONâ??the Division of Lucena City. She also highlighted the results of the completed programs, projects, and activities of the division to deliver effective and efficient services. Oribiana mentioned that this activity was done to recognize the valuable contribution of various stakeholders who had bestowed their efforts, time, and resources to help schools with their programs, projects, and activities. Two hundred fifty participants consisted of the Adopt-A-School Program coordinators, school heads, schoolsâ?? top stakeholders, division stakeholder awardees, top management and unit heads, SGOD personnel, and the technical working committee attended the event. Each school, ASP coordinators, and the school heads were given and received a certificate of recognition to recognize their efforts and their invaluable services rendered in the implementation of Adopt-A-School Program. Schoolsâ?? outstanding stakeholders and the division stakeholder awardees were given a plaque of recognition to recognize and appreciate the time, effort, and provision of assistance they gave for the benefit of learners welfare. Vice Mayor Roderick A. Alcala also graced the activity as he received a plaque of recognition as one of this yearâ??s top division stakeholder awardees and the division hall of fame awardee. Alcala received the award for the Local Government Unit (LGU) on behalf of the City Mayor, Mark Don Victor B. Alcala. He also led the pledge and signing of commitment for all the stakeholders to continuously extend help to all the schools and learners in the Division of Lucena City. All the stakeholder awardees signed the commitment wall as they were grateful to be part of this yearâ??s Education Summit. Atty. Ana Karmela Vergara-Amante thanked everyone who took part in the conduct of the activity, and she congratulated all the awardees on their efforts to implement the Adopt-A-School Program in each school. //Dr. Laiza P.
